Intuition and creativity is vital to successful design products –  but they must be balanced with solid, data-driven insights to create truly impactful products. 

As a designer, I have always embraced the power of research and data to inform my design decisions. This approach ensures that my designs are not only visually appealing but also grounded in real-world needs and business goals. In this post, I’ll share how I leverage business insights, competitor reviews, user and stakeholder interviews, and surveys to create designs that resonate and deliver value.

The Importance of Business Insights

Understanding the business context is the foundation of effective design. By aligning my design decisions with business goals, I can ensure that the end product contributes to the company’s success. This involves a deep dive into various business aspects, including market trends, revenue models, and strategic objectives.

To gather these insights, I collaborate closely with product managers, marketing teams, and executives. This informed the design of a streamlined, user-friendly checkout experience that significantly reduced cart abandonment rates.
